Those specs that matter on the Google Pixel 10 base version

Pixel 10 just got launched this August, which is my birthday-month, by the way. I am having good time with the new Pixel 10 launch as it was a crazy launch event. There were a number of celebrities, check out my article on the Pixel 10 launch event, I shared my insightful opinions. This year's new pixel 10 has a huge upgrade over last year's Google Pixel 9 smartphone. The camera upgrade is the major one, and let's check what other upgrades are there in this article.

I am not a fan of the Pixel 10's design, which is basically the same design as the Google Pixel 9. I also don't dislike the design, it's just a bit too plain and flat looking in terms of how the camera housing is designed. I don't have a problem with the flat-frame design, I think that boxy design is pretty cool, but the boxy-camera is not a good look. The Google Pixel 10 has an aluminum frame with a matte-finish but the Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL have a glossy-finish.

I like the fact that all the models are not glossy or matte. There is difference, like only the Pro-Models have a glossy frame. However, I like the matte-finished Google Pixel 10 more, it is also the cheaper one from the Pixel 10 series smartphones. I would have liked the whole design if The back boxy-camera had a whole glass-look. The flash and cutouts on the right side of the camera housing make the design look very flat and boring for me. In my opinion, the camera-bump looks big and not cool. But I think a lot of people will like the overall design, it's a safe and minimal design - nothing weird about it.

There are an insane number of specifications (specs) on a smartphone that one can get very nerdy about. I am nerdy about smartphones but also nerdy about technology in general. So, I want to simplify the specs for you as I understand what specs you need to look for when purchasing a new smartphone. There is a massive push going on in terms of Artificial Intelligence related features. The Google Pixel 10 has Magic Eraser, Best Take, Add Me and more. For video recording, Pixel 10 has Night Sight and Video Boost features. The "Video Boost" will upload the video that you took to a Google server, then it will get enhanced over the night, and you will get it back within a day or so. Also, there is new "magic cue", "camera coach" and "real-time voice translation" features - old Google Pixel 9 didn't have these.

So the Pixel 10 is the cheapest among other models in the Google Pixel 10 series. Last year's Google Pixel 9 had only 2 cameras on the back side, it was a dual-camera setup. And it was a hardware limitation that can't be upgraded unlike some software features from the Pixel 10 will come later to the old Pixel 9 phones. However, this year's new Pixel 10 has a triple-camera setup, which is a major upgrade over the Pixel 9. The new telephoto camera is a massive advantage on the Pixel 10 smartphone that can make it sell way more than those Pro models.

There is no doubt this year that the Google Pixel 10 is the best-value model as the gap has shrunk significantly between the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro. So, unless you have an insanely deep pocket, you should go with the regular Google Pixel 10 device. But I think it's a better choice to get the 256-GB variant instead of the base 128-GB one.
