Inside the Box
M30 earbuds come with average type of packaging, which is totally fine. Inside the box you will get the earbuds, charging case, type-c to type-a charging cable and user manual. This is minimal packaging though. You will also get some additional eartips and wingtips with the buds for the best fit and comfort. I like the type-c cable, and it is really nice to have type-c charging considering its cheap price.
Design and Build
I really really love the look of the mpow M30 earbuds. The form factor is just phenomenal on its own. They look and feel really small with a super clean gorgeous design. I like the wingtips design here, which is slim, light and low profile. It looks like a mature modern earbud with excellent design choice. They did a pretty good job with the design. The buds have some kind of a rectangular edge lighting, which looks so cool and unique in action.
The mpow M30 looks like a premium earbud with its black color. The build of the earbuds is pretty good and the charging case feels really solid too. I can't believe that they cost only 30 dollars. They are using average quality plastic materials here but the way they managed to do this doesn't look cheap at all. I really love the form factor of these earbuds which is small, light and very clean. Overall, I will give it an A for the design and build.
Fit and Comfort
As the earbuds have a really small form factor, they feel really light and comfortable, which is what everybody wants. You can wear them for a long period of time without getting tired or feeling uncomfortable. They are really good for running and workouts. The wingtips help to keep them in place, and the eartips also provide a good seal from outside noise. So excellent fit and comfort that you're going to get with these earbuds. You may need to change the eartips and wingtips for a better fit because everyone's ears have different geometry.
Controls and MICs
Mpow M30 is true wireless stereo but you get two modes here called mono and shared. So that means you can use both earbuds or either of them for music and call while the other one is getting charged up in the case. The earbuds support touch control, which is crazy like a premium fancy expensive earbud. Now this is going to sound crazy that the mpow M30 bluetooth sports earbuds adopt sensitive touch-control technology so that you can comfortably adjust music playback/pause, volume +/-, skip tracks, siri functions and call answer/end without pressing. These controls are really useful, and they work just fine most of the time.
The mic quality is pretty good for its price, some earbuds don't even have this level of clarity but cost twice the price. In a quiet environment, the mic recording sounds good enough with nice clarity but they have a little bit of noise. Good news is, the noise doesn't affect the overall quality of the sound that you will hear. In a noisy environment, they don't really hold their ground that well, like a more expensive earbud but they're quite unique and special at a cheap price. You shouldn't expect a lot from them.
Sound Quality
These earbuds offer a very well balanced sound signature which is really a big deal and kinda hard to get in the budget range. The sound has enough details in the bass, mids and highs but it will not give you silky smooth sparkly rich details in the highs. The mids are balanced with the low-end and high-end frequencies. These earbuds don't particularly miss out or lack in any part of the whole frequency range.
To me the range is from 30 hz to 16 khz which is decent enough before it starts to roll-off. The bass extension is low enough for a budget earbud and you can definitely feel the sub-bass in your eardrums. The bass is really very neutral that you may think it is lacking some punch and you are right. If you want a close to original or natural sounding earbuds then this one's for you but bass suckers will not be satisfied with the mid-bass punch. I use custom eq to boost 60 hz slightly for a little bit more punchy bass.
The sound is open and airy with decent soundstage but it's not that prominent like a more richer sound. It lacks a little bit of sparkle and shimmer to the sound. Little bit of boost in the upper treble and brilliance region can fix some of these lackings. Overall the sound has a really nice balanced character as a budget device. It will sound a little bit harsh and hard-edged at higher volumes but I think you do not need that much volume.
Features and Battery
Mpow M30 earbuds offer a lot of cool features that other OEMs don't bother to give you. They have support for mono and shared modes. So both earbuds can be used alone. There's no active noise canceling here but their excellent fit does a great job of creating a good seal to block out some of the ambient noises. The earbuds have ipx8 waterproof rating and type-c charging for the case. The bluetooth version is 5.0 here with HSP, HFP, A2DP and AVRCP wireless profiles. There is also built-in microphone support in the M30 earbuds.
The charging case can provide a total backup of 20 hours from a single charge, which is pretty decent but not exceptional. Charging time is 2 hours at 5 volt 1 amp. You should get around 5 hours of music playback with the earbuds alone. So in total, 25 hours of listening at an average 60% volume sounds pretty good. But if you are into bass heavy music then the backup time will vary in your case as bass sucks more power than mids and highs.
Conclusion
For under 30 bucks this is a pure steal. The sound signature is well balanced and natural with a good amount of details. You don’t get nicely balanced tuning with budget earbuds these days. Cheap earbuds sound boomy, too bass heavy, muddy and narrow most of the time. But you can actually judge a sound or recording and you can also tell which instruments are coming from where with the M30 earbuds. This is very rare to find under budget price. Not just the sound, battery backup is also good and you get high-end features with premium build quality. If you can find these earbuds, get them right now.
I hope you've got enough information from this article to decide if you wanna buy the MPOW M30 or not. I highly recommend these earbuds, and absolutely love their build quality and low profile comfortable gorgeous design. They will definitely surprise you with its flat and neutral sound signature.
